I wish I had red the reviews more closely. This pad is pretty hard. I wanted it for kneeling in on the tile in front of my woodstove. I've got a bone spur on one of my knees that is very painful to kneel on. I was using a folded up toilet seat cover as a kneeling pad. Unfortunately, this pad is almost as hard as my floor and I need to get something else. I really like the size, and it is nice and thick. It would work fine to sit on it in a boat or on a bench or other hard or irregular surface. But it doesn't have enough give to cushion the knees. Additionally, mine arrived with a line of crushed area on it going from near the top of the pad to the bottom. Packaging was fine when it arrived, so it obviously went into the box that way. I am debating sending it back since it is useless for my intended purpose. Not sure it is worth the hassle.
