Great until washed, then becomes possible hazard
When my doctor diagnosed me with dry eye, I cried. I'm only 35 and the thought of suffering from something my parents don't even have scared me. The medication he prescribed was not covered by any insurance and was going to cost me $400 a month. I was devastated. I decided to do a search online and see what alternatives were available to me. I found these compresses pretty quickly, and purchased them right away. At first I was very happy with them. I purchased two of these eye compresses so I could alternate them when one needed to be cleaned. When I first started using them, a eucalyptus-y smell escaped the compress when heated, and it moistened my eyes more than any eye drops ever have. After using the compress my eyes felt brand new. I was very happy with my purchase. I used them for some time, and decided that one needed to be washed. As per the instructions on the label, I hand washed it with just water and lay it on a flat surface to dry (a drying rack). When I went back to check on the compress, it looked awful. Suddenly it was stained with large brown and yellow spots. I am afraid of using them now. I have no idea what chemical in the little balls caused the compress to change color like this. I do not wear makeup, and wash my face before applying them on my eyes. I did a search and couldn't find anyone with a similar experience. I am currently looking at other options, and would not buy this again.
