2017 shipping with dumbed down boards
All the reviews you see online are for Kano Pixel Kit kickstarter edition.
Kickstarter edition had a better circuit board with more features.
2017 edition is basicly a dumb usb dongle that requires a computer to work properly.
1) All code execution stops when disconnected from PC / PC is off. (Wifi, works but who wants to keep a computer on for this?)
No standalone except for builtin test games and animations.
2) Microphone not included on new board, rendering many cool projects useless.
3) Tilt sensor not included in new kit.
4) Projects will randomly not be uploadable to your pixel kit from the Kano App.
5) All projects are uploaded to a kids social media site... So if you wanted to code "adult languge" you can't...
