the plastic ring failed after 10 months. This thing is a complete piece of garbage. Ten months after we put it in, the plastic ring cracked and started leaking. Who uses a flimsy piece of plastic on a gigantic, noisy, vibrating 1hp piece of machinery!? Waste king, that's who. Then plumber and plumber refused to come out & fix it. Waste King refused to come & fix it, claiming it was an "installation issue." Excuse me, a professional plumber put it in, it worked fine for 10 mo and then the plastic piece cracked. And this is an installation problem? Give me a break. I'm now putting in an Insinkerator, like I should have done since day one. The plumber #3 that finally came out said the company is taking these out at a rate of about one a month. So, there you have it, a real quality product. Stay away. If you don't believe me, look at the photo of our unit, taken 10 months after it was installed. Disgusting.
