Another product succumbs to profit margins...
This is Method's answer to replacing their previous best selling (and very effective) Lil Bowl Blu toilet cleaner. Unfortunately, while their previous formula utilized lactic acid to cut through even the hardest mineral deposits for very hard water...this new formula uses the much cheaper and readily available citric acid as the active ingredient. Citric acid does NOT cut through mineral deposits in very hard water situations, which means that this product isn't going to work for the majority of the southwestern US or anyone on deep water wells in the northern midwest or upper mideast where high mineral levels in water leave rings in the toilet. In short, it is going to take you A LOT more product to clean a toilet *if* it even works at all on your water hardness. {sigh}
Another product succumbs to greed/higher profit margins. Fortunately, you can still buy a lactic acid based product in competitor Seventh Generation - better go stock up before they decide to give their CEOs a pay raise, too!
