Not the same quality anymore
When I first ordered these back in June, the ones I received were of decent quality. Not the thickest or most durable, but substantially better than the normal silver ones I'd uses in the past. However, after receiving my second order which I purchased in August, I was greatly disappointed. While the packaging and overall appearance are the same, the material definitely is NOT. These are no longer any more durable than the standard, cheap silver Mylar emergency blankets you can get anywhere else. They have a similar orange coloring to the first order, however the sheen is different and the durability of the plastic sheets themselves is a massive step down, easily ripping and developing pinholes and tears as well as breaks in the metal layer (which, once you lose any of the metal, the heat passes right through as though it were just a thin sheet of plastic). The original ones I purchased back in June are still holding up strong, however this second set I purchased in June, while costing the same high price, are no more durable than the standard, cheap silver ones I've purchases elsewhere. I don't recommend these to anyone for the price unless the company steps the quality back up to what it was previously (which of course, they never do because profits matter more than quality or their reputation). They are still decent for insulating as long as you are extremely careful with them (how these cheap things would survive the outdoors where rocks, sticks, trees and even rough grass could easily cause a hole or tear, I have no idea, but I wouldn't trust them to do so). I am willing to pay a higher price for actual quality, but as soon as a company starts cutting corners to rest on their laurels, that's when I start shopping for a replacement from another manufacturer.
