"Free" is the only reasonable price for this book
I can't believe it took two authors to butcher this book so badly. There were more grammatical errors, misspelled words, sentence fragments, missing words, and misused words in this book than any other I've ever read.
Let's go over a few basic things ...
1. "Could've" is a contraction for "could have." "Could of" means nothing and is not a phrase in the English language.
2. A "bottle cap" is a metal object that is crimped around the top of a bottle to keep liquid in. It cannot and does not describe glasses. There is a common term called "coke bottle glasses" that describes glasses with thick lenses. This is a direct reference to the glass, not the cap!
3. When someone is indifferent about something the term is "could NOT care less." If you "could care less" as you so frequently reference in this book, then one does care and could possibly care less than he does.
This book requires some serious proofreading. How is it that neither author did this? The errors are so frequent and so blatant that they distract the reader from the story. And buy a thesaurus! There are many words and phrases available to describe the same thing. I wonder how many times I read the phrase "twiddling their thumbs" in this book. Regardless of the actual number, it was far too many.
As for the story, well, it's seriously lacking. The character development is weak at best. This storyline has been written many times over in much better ways. I would recommend Partials, Exceptionals, Altered, The Twelfth Keeper, The Bane, Mindspeak, Across the Universe Series, The Burn Series, The Mindjack Trilogy, or countless others over this book. This first book didn't even end with a decent cliffhanger. There's absolutely no motivation to spend money on other books in the series.
This book was such a disappointment. Even though this book was free monetarily, I lost 4 hours of my life reading it that I will never get back. Don't make the same mistake!
