I hope the new one is more secure than its predecessor
I have owned three Zugu cases for my iPad Mini, the seven-angle model, some purchased from Amazon and some from the vendor, can't remember the ratio. Those products were this new one's immediate predecessor and look identical to me. I love that look, the magnets, and the thinness, and that's why I kept buying them.
UNFORTUNATELY, all of these cases started to break within 6 to 9 months when the extremely thin and weak plastic edges, the part that secures the tablet in place, began splitting at the curve and breaking off, and eventually losing its grip on the tablet. I finally made a fix using industrial strength double-sided tape to secure the iPad to the remainder of the third Zugu to prevent the iPad from slipping out and crashing to the floor, something that happened several times. In other words, I had to glue the damn thing to the case.
What scares me about this new model are these two statements in the advertising blurb, only a paragraph apart: First, “We now use similar materials as Mercedes Benz which look amazing.” Just LOOK amazing? And the second statement, “Dual injection Pc/tpu Shell (Super Protective Bumper with thinnest in industry 2 mm pc back)” The thinnest in the industry??? Eh?
QUESTION: DOES THIS NEW MODEL USE BETTER AND THICKER PLASTIC EDGES THAN ITS PREDECESSOR? DOES IT PROPERLY HANG ON TO AND SECURE THE TABLET IN PLACE? FOR KEEPS? If this can be guaranteed, I'll buy a fourth one right now. But as I still have some tape left, and I know my present one is secure, I need to be convinced before getting a new one for cosmetic reasons.
