WARNING TO PARENTS: GATE FAILED AT TOP OF STAIRS. The gate was properly mounted and locked in place (I always triple check), and still my 15 month old daughter was able to push through it. Thankfully my husband was nearby and managed to catch her by her arm before she tumbled down a steep set of wooden stairs. Despite what the manufacturer says, DO NOT purchase this gate for the top of stairs to protect a young child. I saw my life flash before my eyes this morning and felt the need to let other parents know. I'll be contacting the manufacturer too as it is absolutely NOT safe for stairs as they advertise that it is.
