This book usually comes as a set of three books and it costs 37 dollars!!!!!! This book has bad knowledge inside it.....the pemmican recipe is incomplete and the cooking temp is wrong!!!!! I live in the South....we still make the Pemmican to use when we go hunting here......That recipe is wrong guys!!!!! You have to be precise with making the fat....the temp is key!!!!!! There are several other things inside this book that aren't correct....Like the smoke house.....We still smoke meat the old way to get the taste of hickory smoke, etc......It's easy if you know how and impossible if you don't!!!! You can poison yourself with one attempt to make smoked bacon!!!! People....if you want to know how to survive the old way.....go to the library of congress online and look up all you want to learn!!!!! Or, go to your local tribal office/ Indian reservation(Mine is Choctaw) and ask for their preservation society's phone number.....Also, ask the old folks people! My grandmother taught me EVERYTHING I know!!!!! learn to grow a garden.....learn to can food......stop buying stuff like this book. I got this book as a birthday gift.....piece of junk!!!! The things in this book fail because the man that wrote it has never tried his own ideas.....So, he writes how to make pemmican he found off the internet, though he's never tried to make it himself, and you get poisoned from his incorrect temp. for the fat!!!!!! Trial and error make a good survival author......remember that when finding a good survival book!!!! 1188.00 for this book is highway robbery!!!!!! I'd sue the crap out of him the first time I got poisoned from his pemmican recipe!!!!! His mistake is proven in writing!!!!!!!! Case won for you!!!!!
