This rug is the most disgusting thing that has ever happened to me. I saw the reviews about dirt, but there were also rave reviews, and I really, really liked the look of this rug. I decided to give it a chance, hoping the dirt reviews were somehow a fluke. Worst. Decision. Ever. The reviews about dirt are no exaggeration - quite the opposite! They don't do the problem justice! Immediately after opening the plastic, I noticed dirt. Everywhere. I decided to unroll the rug a bit and try to vacuum it, as one reviewer suggested. It quickly became apparent that this was a ridiculous effort. I vacuumed a dozen times, but with each shift of the rug, more dirt appeared. It is a thick, heavy, woven rug. There is no way you can just shake the dirt out. It is like someone buried it in their garden, dug it up, shook it out a little, and delivered it to your doorstep. It even smells like thick, wet dirt. The smell got stronger the longer it was out of the plastic. I could smell it from the next room. I am not one of those people who can't stand "natural" smells. But this smells like someone dug up a few wheelbarrowfuls of dirt after a rainstorm, and dumped it in your living room. I would not use this rug on a patio or in a shed, much less in the house! The only people who would like this rug are people who live with 10 dogs and 5 goats, and frankly I think even they would have qualms about it. I would give it no stars if I could. I don't know how Amazon can sell something like this. The only good thing I can say is the return process was relatively painless. There was no return shipping charge, and you can ask UPS to pick it up for you. I nearly wept for joy when the USP guy came to lug this disgusting thing out of my house forever.
