This is a chaos reboot but without the hot and sexy hero or the endearing side characters. I had a feeling from the sample I might not enjoy BUT I was hoping it would be decent and the early 3-4 reviews seemed ok. Boy was I wrong. The hero in this is TOXIC. He puts his hands on the heroine in a fit of anger then says its her fault because she should have moved. (He left bruises and threw her into a wall,) Tack would never. The heroine has a moment when she thinks the hero is cheating on her and her new "posse" tell her thats how it is and she has to accept it because MC guys are like that. (meanwhile when these same girl friends find out THEIR men actually did cheat, one breaks up with hers and the other has a broken relationship while they decide if they'll stay together) What makes this worst is that the heroine is clearly traumatized from her past life and doesnt think she deserves better. I waited for her to grow or for the author to use the story to build up her self esteem to be a strong woman but it never happens. She lets this women be gaslighted and abused verbally and physically by every other character in this book. Clara stays a doormat throughout and its so disappointing. As for the hero West/Buck-he's awful. He's rude, aggressive, disrespectful and a whole list of things. In love and kind is not on that list. He basically tells Clara (who he insists on calling toots) that she has to stay with him, in his house, and as his old lady because she was broke, jobless and homeless. Also where I come from toots means to pass gas so that nickname stayed awkward and awful to me. Anyway this pretty much follows the motorcycle man storyline but without the love and romance. its more abrupt, its a weaker plot line and comes with the customary evil b@#$ ex wife who the teen kids (one boy and one girl-of course) who hate their mom and want their dad who is awesome. heroine doesnt have kids cause her ex said to wait so she steps in as step mom and kids think she is the shizzle. heroine receives an antique classy car rebuilt by yours truly the hero. he hires her to work at his warehouse where all his MC brothers fall in love with her because she bakes. Oh and the Tack 2.0 cooks like a dream and has the prerequisite fave dish everyone in the family loves to eat.
