So you know how when you order something and you are really excited when you get it…. and then you use it. I have been on this mission to reduce one-time-use plastic in my life and ordered this Stojo collapsing coffee cup for my weekly coffee excursions. I was really disappointed. First - It came in a plastic bag. “Hmmm.” thought I. “I guess it’s only one bag. I need to think of all the plastic coffee cup lids I will be saving”. My husband was also kind enough to point out that it was made of plastic. But I had some smart things to say about that as well. Next - Troubles started when I poured my morning matcha tea and pushed on the lid slightly while closing it. Bunch of it came spilling out the top (the cup is soft). Then I got into my car (still wanting really badly to like it and overlook the first inconvenience when I realized my tea was now cold (it only had been 10min). I collected all of my optimism, smiled and practiced self-deception but the cup really soon brought me back to reality when I washed it and tried to collapse it back to put it in my bag. No joke, it took me a couple tries to get it to collapse. Needless to say, it’s going back :(
