I have purchased more than one bluetooth speaker for my bathroom in the past few months, and have been disappointed in all of them - except this one. I like to listen to the news from my favorite radio station in the morning while I get ready for the day, and other bluetooth speakers claim to be loud or have excellent sound - but fail pretty badly. Even sitting the speaker inside a cabinet with the door open, which amplifies the sound it puts out doesn't help enough. I'm not at all hard of hearing, so I know it's not just me when I can barely hear the speaker over the running water in the shower. Enter this speaker...WOW. What a difference! I have to actually turn it down from full volume because it's so loud. The sound quality is clear and music is appropriately balanced (no heavy bass or tinny sounding audio like other speakers). I was concerned at first because there seemed to be a bit of a background hum when I first activated the speaker, but once sound is played through the speaker, that's not noticeable at all. I think it's just because I had it near my computer when I turned it on - sort of a feedback issue like you'd get with a microphone. I didn't use the suction cup holder it came with, because the speaker is heavy, and I was worried it might fall and break - so I hung it around the holder for my shower head, which is affixed to the shower wall. That works perfect. I go to my favorite radio station on my laptop in the morning, turn on their streaming service, then turn on the speaker when I get into the bathroom to shower, and it immediately picks up and starts playing. Easy peasy. The only minor complaint is that the speaker seems to lose its connection to my laptop every few days or so - easily remedied by clicking the "connect" option in the bluetooth screen on my laptop, only takes a couple of seconds. ----------------------- UPDATE 12/23/19 After having this speaker for only a short time, I can no longer recommend it. For the first couple of weeks, it was great - good sound, clear, and no skipping or cutting out. Now, anytime I turn it on, it skips or cuts out every few seconds. I have moved it closer to the bluetooth source as recommended, removed any obstacles that could possibly be obstructing the signal, and still, no luck. I can't even listen to the morning news because it's impossible to tell what's being said due to all the cutting out. Very frustrating. I guess I'm on to yet another speaker. Getting very tired of all the junk being sold on Amazon these days. Will only be buying name brands I know and trust from now on. It's getting so it's impossible to know what's ok to buy and what's not. It wasn't this way before Amazon started allowing anyone and everyone to sell on their platform and not penalizing them for selling inferior merchandise.
