Creates suction that sucks tongue into ball
PSA: If your dog has a "Chuckit" ball with a single hole either drill another hole in it so it can't create suction or throw it in the trash. Poor Wilbur had his tongue sucked into his chuckit ball at some point last night. He's such a gentle sweetheart he didn't make a fuss. I didn't even notice till I tried to play fetch with him this morning. When I finally got the ball off it had about 1/4 cup of Wilbur's blood in it. This pic was taken at the vet a couple hours later. This morning I thought for sure he'd need surgery, the injured area was twice as big. The vet thinks letting it heal on its own along with an anti-inflammatory drug will do the trick. I know it must hurt, he didn't have breakfast so he was starved and he wouldn't eat dinner on his own. I had to spoon feed it down his throat. Hoping the swelling is down tomorrow. Update: Parts of his tongue are dead from having the blood cut off and are going to have to be surgically removed. Luckily he is able to eat as of now and will probably be ok. This design should be pulled from the market. The whole "don't leave dog unattended with toy" thing doesn't matter here either as it might just look like they're chewing on the ball like normal like it did with Wilbur. Chuckit, please stop selling a toy design that can hurt our dogs!
