Full disclosure: I purchased this as an open box deal. Whether it was used or not I don't know, but it was in pristine condition. It blew out the worst cigarette smoke smell, it made my entire living room stink. Even if this was used previously in a home with a smoker, there is no reason it should be blowing out such a bad smell since it is an air purifier. I promptly returned the product.
