I had such high hopes for this vacuum. Dyson has a reputation for making the best vacuums, or so I thought. When I first received this vacuum, I loved it. It did a great job on my hardwood floors and area rugs, and though the charge was short, it was usually enough to let me get through my small townhouse. However, about six months in, the motorized brush bar stopped turning. I checked for clogs, cleaned it thoroughly, read online troubleshooting guides, and still wouldn't work. No problem, I thought. One of the reasons I chose this vacuum was for its two year warranty. What a surprise then to talk to customer service and find out this was considered "normal wear and tear". I asked the representative if they were saying they only intended their vacuum to work for six months, but all they said was they could send me a new motor head as a "one time courtesy". Once I received the new attachment, the vacuum once again worked perfectly. I resolved to be vigilant, emptying the canister and cleaning the brush bar after every room to prevent any buildup of dust or hair. However, six months later, just like clockwork, I start experiencing the exact same problems. It seems that nothing prevents hair from getting wrapped around the brush motor, so despite how clean you keep the machine, eventually hair or particles will find their way into the head and cause the bar to stop turning. And there's no way to get into the machine to clean it out. I'm beyond frustrated, and I will never again buy a Dyson product!
