First let me say I am a huge Yeti fan, I have a Tundra that is nothing short of excellent. I had a difficult time making the decision to go with the Hopper vs the Roadie. I finally selected the Hopper since it was lighter in weight and I could hang it off my shoulder. When I went into Cabelas to purchase the cooler, I bumped into another shopper who came to me and warned me about the cooler. He had one for a couple weeks then actually returned it to Cabelas. He told me that getting food and drinks in and out of the cooler is difficult. Since I was such a Yeti fan from the Tundra, I ignored his input and bought the Hopper. I now understand what he is talking about. It is difficult to keep this cooler open, and while I realize this in some way helps keep the cold in, it is a complete pain in the neck. The bag is awesome, the material selection is right on the mark, it tucks under my arm perfectly - perfect size, I can actually wrap my arm over the bag and hold the bottom when it is loaded down and hanging on the shoulder. The D rings are helpful. The zipper mechanism is really great - totally keeps the bag from leaking. But I think the placement of the zipper makes this a frustrating product to use. They could have created a horseshoe opening that would allow the user to open a larger flap - that would make accessibility to contents easier. I think this is a huge flaw in the product design. Everyone that tries to get something out of the cooler says the same thing - friends and family all make the same comment. Yeti needs to go back to the drawing board and work on a zipper opening redesign - it is not right. If Yeti gets this right, this will be a fantastic product. As it is currently, sadly it isn't right. At this price point, the entire product has to be right, in fact at this price point it needs to delight - and the way it stands now it is not, I would consider it to be a seriously flawed product. My wife will never use this - ever because of this flaw. My inner forearms are scratched up from putting things in and taking stuff out of the cooler. I would purchase the Roadie instead until they get this product flaw addressed. Again, I am a major Yeti fan, and it pains me to write this ... but Yeti didn't get it right with this product - fix the zipper, provide a larger opening, and it will become legendary like your other coolers.
