I bought this item with the hopes of improving the reception over my $9.00 "as seen on TV" antenna that I bought at Walmart. It was much worse and I went from 7 steady channels to 4 that were not steady. Not only that, the junction where the power and cable meet got so hot after a few minutes, I couldn't touch it. Perhaps it is defective but I would caution people to check his out as I consider it a fire hazard.
