While the designs are pretty and the concept of mix and match garement elements is great, the execution leaves much to be desired. The midriff pieces measure 2.5-3 inches smaller than the waist measurement on the sizing chart. The boatneck neckline facing didn't fit the bodice. The boatneck bodice is a shallow V neck, not a real boatneck. The cap sleeve is several inches smaller than the regular sleeve and couldn't be made to fit after several full bicep adjustments. The regular sleeve had such an odd fit that I ended up using a sleeve from a Vogue pattern. Unlike her Casual book, Gertie is the only model in this book. Does this mean the patterns weren't tested on different sized models? It sure seems that way. I like her Casual book and her Butterick patterns but the fit is so off on this one that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who isn't well skilled in fitting and patterns alterations.
