I actually love this product; it's the only thing that keeps the cat and I on good terms. It could easily be 5-starred, but PetSafe would rather rip people off, $35 at a time. When the original battery dies, the product dies with it. I thought maybe the first one was just a lemon, but after three collars, I see that it's just a shoddy product that isn't designed last beyond one battery cycle. Altogether, we've spent about $200 on this money pit of a system. I'd gladly pay twice that for something that will last. But instead of charging more for a better product, PetSafe seems content to nickel and dime its customers until they wise up to the scam.
