A terrible installment to a great series. The intro of these book completely ruined the story and it only got worse. Both MCs were godawful. This book had my two major reasons for not reading a story. 1) H sleeps with lots of women while knowing the h. Even hooks up with her sister. 2) The h is a doormat her entire life. I hate reading h’s like this. It make for such a boring sad story because she is simply pathetic. There may be some SPOILERS with my rant but I have to say it because it would have saved me the 4 hours of my life. To start these MCs know each other their whole lives even as adults and the H sleeps with other women because he never sees the h as a love interest until he is almost 40 and comes back home and suddenly finds the h attractive. What?! How does this make sense? He has known her his entire life and seen her as a sister even in her 20s. Huh?? This story line was just garbage. The entire book the h is so pathetic and obsessed with the H who just didn't want her romantically. He even hooked up with her sister and she caught them and STILL she pathetically loved him. He comes back 9 years later, not to see her mind you, and suddenly he sees her different then when she was 20 and now 29. Yea, no. This makes no sense. Uuhhhg this book was so bad. But wait, it gets worse because the author wants us to suddenly think he is a saint because for reasons unknown to the H he hasn’t slept with anyone a year before he saw the h again. Again not becasue he gave a cra*P about the h but just because he felt something inside him not want to sleep with random women any more. OH MY GAWWWDDDD. He sucked, she sucked….they deserved each other. What a waste of a read. One of the worst stories I’ve read in a while. He even admits never even thinking about her while he is gone. Why would you write that in a romance story? This book was SOOO bad. Do not recommend and so disappointed after such a long wait for more in the series.
