As an IT professional, I highly recommend not purchasing this drive. I saw the overall good reviews for this drive and the low price and thought this SSD was a steal. So I purchased it. You have all heard the old adage, "You get what you pay for." That applies to this drive. While this drive technically "works," it wont work for very long. Even in its packaging, the drive had no weight. I removed it from its packaging and immediately felt the cheap plastic it was encased in. I plugged the drive into my computer and set everything up. This drive worked and I immediately saw an increase in performance. However, something was nagging at me. I decided to check the drive's temperature and I was glad I did. It was idling at 100 C. Thats over 2.5 times what other SSDs idle it. In another computer, my Samsung SSDs idle at 38 C. At 100 C this drive is hot enough to boil water. However, I wanted to make sure the drive was actually at that temperature, as it could just have a faulty sensor. I opened the case and used an infrared thermometer on the SSD's case and it read 89 C. So the internal temperature is definitely 100 C and the internal sensor is good. No wonder all the bad reviews said this drive failed over time. It is burning itself up. I am sure over more time, all those that gave this drive a good review will start to have failures. As they say, "If its too good to be true, it is." This drive is not worth the risk. It will most likely fail. At first, you might not notice it, as the drive and OS can tolerate small failures, but over time it will eventually die. It is not worth the headaches you are sure to have using this drive. I have already set up a RMA for this garbage and will be purchasing a name brand drive.
