Spent lots of time reviewing tea kettles before purchasing. Found many reviews on this model and even found a best 5 kettles review voting this the number 1 kettle. I seriously dislike this kettle. I use a kettle all throughout the day and this one has disappointed in many ways. First, the spout is low on the kettle and they tell you that you shouldn't fill it beyond the bottom of the spout line. That means you can only fill it about 1/3 full at best. If you overfill, it sputters out of the spout as soon as it boils. Even when minding the "fill rules" it still bubble over when it boils. I have CONSTANT water marks on my black stove top because of this and I am not exaggerating in the least. Also, if you try to pour it shortly after it boils it sputters all over the place and you get your counters all wet. Lastly, the whistle is so quiet that you can't hear it anywhere but it the kitchen. Not good. Mostly the handle doesn't get too hot, but if it's been boiling for a while you need to use a pot holder to pour. After a few months of cursing at this thing I'm looking to replace it. Super annoying given that it's not a bargain basement priced kettle and it's received so many good review!
