The motor died after using 4 times since I received the sprayer on 4/4/15. I loved the sprayer for ease of assembly and use. Yesterday, spray gun smelled like electrical burning and motor would work no more. I called Wagner technical at which time the person told me this sprayer was not for use with water based paint. I read to her from the book enclosed with sprayer that it can be used with water based paint. I was using Minwax polyacrylic water based sealer to seal knotty pine wood. Please note it was performing beautifully until it "died". She said the sprayer was intended only for small, fine jobs. No where do I read this sprayer should be used for small jobs ONLY. All the reviews I read before purchasing this sprayer indicated otherwise, e.g., used for painting home fences, decks, furniture, etc. There were many happy customer reviews which is why I purchased this product. I was told to send sprayer to Wagner at my cost and they would look at it. If it is manufacturer defect, they will pay for shipping sprayer back to me. I'm very unhappy since I was in the middle of a fine finish project and even more unhappy due to what appears to be poor tech support from Wagner. Note, technician appeared to not believe I was referring to a Control Spray Double Duty paint sprayer even though I was reading directly from the box.
