I received my Netvue orb camera today, and it looked great. However, I downloaded the required app and read the details regarding its permissions. By using the necessary app, I would be turning over full control of literally everything on my phone to people I do not know anything about. I don't know what they would do with the information, but I'm not willing to take the risk. Such things that the permissions demand are accessing ANY of the phone's data, downloading files without notifying the user, modifying network connections and settings, recording audio and video data without user knowledge, and the list went on and on to include about a dozen or more items. I've never seen an app that required that depth of access to data without user knowledge. This is a recipe for identity theft and a deep invasion of privacy. I immediately uninstalled the app and am preparing the camera for return to Amazon.
