When I purchased the pack, based on the reviews, I imagined it lasting for quite some time, but there are now 32 (about 1 in every 20 who purchase this pack) verified purchases that mention either the strap breaking, or an uncomfortable strap, both of which I can attest to. If I had it to do over again, I would purchase from a company that stands behind their product. The price does not match the quality, not by a long shot. No amount of fancy pockets make up for poor design and quality. Also worth noting- 5.11 will not warranty any product purchased on Amazon, it says so on their warranty page. So just above this review, in the product FAQ, the “Lifetime” warranty that authorized seller “Wether the Storm” refers to does not apply to this pack. When the main strap broke and the pack fell on the ground with my tablet in it, no amount of cushion saved my tablet. Adding insult to injury, because I bought the pack from Amazon, 5.11 refused to warranty my pack. They also informed me that the broken strap was considered “normal wear and tear”, and they said that the pack only had a one year warranty to begin with, which based on their general warranty page, I cannot see how they came to that conclusion. Lots of misinformation.
