BUYER BEWARE! If you buy this unit make sure you save your box in case there is a problem. I purchased this until just 2 months ago. We let the unit sit upright for over 24 hours upon receiving it, as suggested, plugged it in and off it went. It worked well for the first month and then started have problems which resulted in the unit spitting water out of the top grate. It was just under 2 months of use before it started spitting water. There was water flying everywhere. I purchased a warranty from Amazon but because the unit was so new I had to go through Black and Decker. Dealing with Black and Decker is no walk in the park. It took me hours to find the right place to call because the number given to me doesn’t deal with air conditioners. I finally got someone to speak with. They submitted my claim. Today, 8 days later, I get a call saying they will replace the unit but I need to box up my current unit in the original box. Nice, but I don’t have the original box. The box was very large and I did not have any place to store it. Now I am waiting again for them to figure out a solution to the fact that I don’t have the original box. If you get a unit that works without malfunction it is a great unit but if you happen to get one with problems working with Black and Decker is very difficult. This is why I am giving just 1 star. I would expect the until to last longer then 2 months.
