The sofa product as shipped is basically worthless from a design stand point. I think that has come across loud and clear from other reviewers, so I won't "beat a dead horse" so to speak. The slick backing is ridiculous considering the purpose of this product. Here's what I have done to make this work for me: First I went to the big blue box and got some of that rubberized shelf liner. I have found it works great as a light weight area rug anti skid mat. Keeps rugs from slipping when their sprayed on latex backing is long gone but the rug surface is still good. I sewed a long strip to each end of the seat cushion part and tacked it along the edges of the seat part to keep the rubber mat in place. (yes, I sew) Then I cut pieces for both arm sections and a long piece to go across the top of the couch. This keeps the cotton duck mat in place for the most part. However, as a back up, I also got some of those curled upholstery pins and put one on each of the corners to secure the cover. I added a little "give" to compensate for the weight of the dogs that consider this sofa theirs, so the pins would not pull out. Works like a charm. It is pathetic that I had to go to this much trouble to get a product to perform as it was designed. I had just used a king size sheet before but it was too thin given the frequency of muddy feet with red Georgia clay all over them. I'll update this review as time progresses and the cover is laundered. But so far, so good with a lot of tweaking!
