DO NOT BUY THIS CHEW TOY! I just spent over a thousand dollars on stomach surgery. It is poorly designed and the white nubs on the end narrow down where they meet the red part. A very weak point and the white part just snaps off. Perfect size for a dog to swallow. Too big for it to pass through (I have a golden retriever). Terrible design. When I called them to see if there was any chance the piece would break down or be digested the customer service person said "No they are not meant to be ingested so they won't break down at all" Duh! Not meant to be ingested so why make this design so poorly so parts break off so easily. AND to top it all off the material is not able to view on X-rays, sometimes not even on barium contrast x-rays. So the veterinarians can't even tell exactly where it is or if for sure it is in the stomach, or intestines. (I did see him swallow it so I knew for sure, but some people might not witness it). If they are going to make a product that is SO OFTEN swallowed the least they could do is put some material in it that would make it visible on the x-rays. Horrible product, if you love your dog don't buy it.
