The color night vision is really good and the motion detection works perfectly. I love that you can draw the area you want to motion detection to be active for. This made it perfect for setting it up since we have a shared driveway so that I exclude our neighbors half of the driveway. The biggest complaint I have is how unreliable the Ring devices are. They do work some of the time but I've noticed many times it will not record the video and instead the video saved will just be black with nothing there. For a security system, this is a really big let down because it means I can't trust the device. The same thing happens to my Ring Doorbell 2 as well. Due to this, I would not recommend getting this if you need actual security because the reliability is not there enough to let you actually trust it. The app is complete garbage to run it and is a cluster that resembles something a kid would have made. You have a 50/50 change that the device will not actually record any video which could be a very bad thing if it decided to do that during an actual incident.. I would put this as a Buyer Beware. Know what you are getting in to before buying any of the RING camera's. Use it if you want to just monitor your place on your own and are willing to accept that it will fail to record or show any video pretty often. But do not rely on it as an actual security system because if it fails when you need it, it will not do you much good..
