This printer prints the finest prints that a $150 - $300 printer can print. And it has been a reliable printer for the last few years. BUT... the ink, which needs to be refilled several times a year, or even more, if you were to use it more than occasionally, is excruciatingly expensive. At $72 for a box, including most of the colors, not all, I have spent thousands during the last few years. Even if you dont use it much at all, the ink dries out and needs to be replaced. Even when the color cartridges run out, it will not print black and white. Canon, hear me, THIS IS A RIP OFF!" No wonder people are buying generic ink, which often doesnt work any better. As the Staple employee said, "Yeah, they just want you to buy a new printer." Problem is, all of the printers I have owned including other brands, have the same problem. I am about ready to get rid of it, not because of the print quality, but because I cant afford to keep ink in it. Let this be your warning- its going to get expensive.
