My 20 lb french bulldog ( 10 month old) loved these and chewed them for 4 months without problems. However, this month she almost had a fatal consequence after breaking off a large piece of the chew ( she hadn't been able to do this before, so I am not sure if it was fractured or if she has just become a more aggressive chewer). She wasn't able to swallow anything and would vomit any time she tried, so I took her to the vet unsure of what was wrong. The piece was lodged in her esophagus it didn't show up on an X-ray, but the pieces in her tummy did. The doctor thought the ones in her tummy were rocks so immediate opened her stomach up and removed 7 quarter sized, u digested pieces 2-3 days after her last one. Unfortunately, the golf ball sized piece was undetectable due to the location, so she continued not being able to swallow and threw up often. The vet had her swallow dye, saw something and ran a camera down her esophagus finding the piece of the dog chew. Because these chews are so hard and they don't break down easily, the couldn't push the piece through her esophagus and had to go in through her tummy again to get it out. It took over 2.5 hours and by that time, they were saying, "if she makes it through the next 48 hours". Buyer beware, my pup almost lost her life chewing these. I will not be giving my dog these ever again.
