I had purchased a competitor's grill first. It did not hold temp. I returned it. I figured, Traeger will be fine. I was wrong, Even went with the Pro controller, supposed to hold temp better.... their tech support says that is not true. On smoke, it runs at 220. At 180, it runs at 230. Does it get to 450, NO. Tech support, at first, helpful, over time, worthless. called, and troubleshot down to the auger, after replacing a controller. Then learned, after waiting 2 weeks, it is on backorder, won't arrive for another 2 weeks. Even though we discussed a party I have this weekend. I am absolutely disgusted and furious with myself. I think the only decent one out there is priced high for a reason. My advice, buy a smoker, use sticks, or get and electric and use chips. This pellet thing does not work. Even IF they get me up and running, I can't trust sleeping over night with a $75 brisket in there without me checking every minutes. Trust me, don't do it
