I have tried to use this to try to charge my surface pro 6 device and it has not been able to even get my surface pro to show any indications of charging. I bought this cable with the hope to keep my normal battery charger at home so that I can use my portable power bank instead and save space. However I have connected this to several power banks with the same result of it not charging my surface pro. I used cheap brand chargers with usb c out and the light on the wire did not even light up. When I did use larger power banks from RAV and Anker (3A output) the light did show up but was very faint and still didn't charge my device. Although disappointed that I would not be able to use the cable on the go it could still serve to work as an extra charger at home or so I thought. I tried the anker 60W usb c wall plug and still only got a faint light and my surface pro still didn't register or start charging. I also tried a samsung wall plug and my friends laptop charger (has a port to charge his macbook pro 2018 usb c-usb c) and none of them worked just got a faint light and no charge. I am not sure if this is just because of my model surface pro 6 is not supported or I need to buy a very specific wall plug or usb c power bank but as of now this charging cable does not work.
