Ordered this "Advanced" Cordless Waterpik based on the previous reviews. Charged it as stated in the manual. It worked a few times and then started working sometimes even when charged. When it "played dead" we charged it again (blue charging lite flashing) After a few hours the blue light would go out and it appeared to be charged. May only work a couple times and then not work even though it said it was charged, Put up with these intermittent problems for 4 months before the unit got so hot when charging that you couldn't touch it! Called Waterpik Customer Service who didn't doubt we had these problems with the unit and offered right away to send out a new replacement unit. Received new replacement unit on 12/31/16. Charged it for 4 hours as recommended. Unit worked once and when my spouse went to use it later the same day, it was dead with the blue light flashing indicating it needed charging. Charged it for several hours and all the time, the flashing blue charging light kept blinking. Since the blue light is always flashing when you go to use it, you don't know if it's dead or not. Called Waterpik Customer Service back again on 1/11/17 to report that the second new unit was defective - once again a charging problem. Since we've received 2 brand new defective products and spent $99.99 for what is obviously a defective charging system, we demanded our money back. Customer Service agent put me on hold and came back to inform me that they couldn't do that because the product was past it's "14-Day" Money Back return policy limit. Next, the agent referred me to the outside of the box where it states they have a 14-Day "Healthier Gums" guarantee or your money back. It states, "Healthier gums guaranteed or your money back." However, the new units have a 2-Year defective product warranty, which the company refused to honor. I told her I was well within the 14-day limit since I just received the 2nd new unit on 12/31/16 and it was now 1/11/17 and I wasn't asking them to honor a "healthier gums" warranty, but their 2-year defective product guarantee. She informed me that I couldn't "transfer" the 14-day warranty to the 2nd new unit, since I bought the original unit in August 2016. Bottom line: Waterpik knows they have a charging system problem with this magnetic charger attachment and/or battery issues, but will not honor their 2-year defective product guarantee. It appears that management has instructed the Customer Service agents that nobody gets a refund on their purchase for a defective product...only if they can prove they don't have "healthier" gums within 2 weeks of using their product! They did agree to send me a 3rd new unit which will take 7 - 10 business days to arrive along with a return mailing label for the 2nd defective unit. So, the company's solution to keeping your money is to keep producing and selling defective products apparently until you stop complaining!
