I called the company in February of 2018 and was told that the formula has been changed, and it no longer neutralizes URIC ACID CRYSTALS. When I used this product in 2015 it was awesome. My rental unit went from smelling like someone had spilled a bucket of pee, to smelling like a mild perfume. I actually did think that a carpenter was peeing in a bucket and spilled it, as there were several large, smelly wet spots on the floor. With a little research I learned that uric acid crystals form when dog and cat urine dries. Then when it rains, (as it had overnight), the crystals pull water out of the air and rehydrate themselves, making the floor wet and the air extremely stinky. The old formula for Simple Solution had chemistry to neutralize and eliminate the uric acid crystals. I am afraid that all the good reviews are for the old formula. Apparently we have California to thank for this, as the company changed their formula to be compliant with California's laws. I am posting this with the hope that the company will bring the old formula back and call it FORMULA 51, for the 51 states that don't comply with California's laws.
