I have been a loyal L'Occitane customer for several years now and have always been happy to pay the high price for such high-quality, luxurious soap, but, unfortunately, something has changed in the formula of their soaps I believe starting in Fall of 2017. The Shea butter milk soap bar used to be a faint yellow color and very solid, with a faint, very pleasant scent. The last bar I purchased in November 2017 has a muted gray color, the soap was slightly softer and seemed to melt partially after a few days in the shower, and worst of all, the extremely strong scent! The scent isn't terrible (it smells like their shea butter lotion) but it is NOT the scent of the old L'Occitane milk soap and it is so strong it burned my eyes after one use after washing my face with it. I tried the next day and my eyes burned again, my skin was irritated, and I smelled of that sickly strong scent. Afterward, I chatted with a customer service representative on the L'Occitane website, who promptly accepted my complaint and sent me out a new bar. When I received it in the mail a few days later, it was the same gray, strongly (and wrongly) scented kind of bar I had recently purchased. I got the same bad product from two different batches so I am convinced that the company is cutting corners. I am so disappointed because I loved these soaps, but I cannot waste my money anymore for a very inferior, and frankly UNUSABLE, product.
