** Do not buy ** NOT 18/8 stainless steel
Headline for impatient readers: Product is not as advertised. I contacted the seller within 15 min of opening the package.. after I already washed the muffin pans. I purchased 4 of these because they said 18/8 stainless steel.. regardless of the price - like most - I was after purely stainless steel quality pans. After pulling off the lable (which also said "18/8 stainless steel") and washing, I decided to test the various stainless steel items I purchased. I was shocked when the magnetic clip stayed... In short, there is no nickel in this produce so it is a lower grade stainless steel and as such is MORE corrosive.
I next did a search online to contact the seller. The person answering the phone immediately put me through to the owner John Roberts and you wouldn't believe what he said, "Yeah.. someone else contacted me about this and I haven't called Amazon to correct this". So I inquired further. What DID you do to correct this? He replied, "I contacted the guy in China to let him know that I wasn't happy." "How many do you sell?" He said, "We only sell through resellers." How many did Amazon sell? He replied "I have no idea." I inquired, "Did you notify ANY resellers that the product is NOT as advertised? He replied, "No I have not and I need to." I asked him, "Do you know what that is called?" I went on, "There is a word for this type of response in the corporate world." He replied, "Probably fraud.." I said.. "yes". To his defense, he claims he was unaware the first time, but when another Amazon customer notified him.. he did nothing! Didn't notify Amazon, didn't notify ANY resellers and simply suggested I return to Amazon for a full refund.
Guys.. I rarely write a review.. but boy is it frustrating when we have to now test what the manufactures label.
