So far it's the Echo that's good at nothing and bad at everything
Update: got my replacement a full month early. Thank you Amazon a nice unexpected surprise. Having the new one really emphasizes had broken the original one was. So far everything is working perfectly. Rarely it seems a little slow … widget gallery is still a little fidelity but other than that the new one has worked flawlessly. If it continues to do so I change my score, but so far it seems like a solid 4 stars. Literally nothing works, Alexa cannot complete any requests the blue bar just blinks before saying "sorry... ", Even when you link the calendar it does not display events. Doesn't display photos, the commute widget doesn't allow you to put in a destination so what's the point? The widget gallery only displays intermittently or the button flashes but nothing happens, can't view cameras, can't shut off lights, devices that are identified in your app and have always work don't show up on the Echo 15, or they do and simply flash, don't work or say they are unresponsive or offline (they aren't). There's no Netflix, or Youtube app, they require you to use Silk Web browser that will then refuse to play video, this Echo has been absolute garbage. These are the types of problems you can expect to run into at EVERY SINGLE turn. It's like they sold the Beta testing version, and the Beta was already terrible to start with. The screen is huge but it's not even half the size of the disappointment. Will continue to try and trouble shoot to avoid the hassle of returning, but it's been 2 days of constant disappointment, the more you try the more you discover what doesn't work and the more you realize you've been had, you just bought a $250 piece of junk. This has been the biggest Amazon device let down I've ever experienced. Spoiler Alert ... there will be no Gen 2 version. This product if left in it's current form will crash and burn. The Lemon of 2021 UPDATED: OK may have just received a broken device, Customer service walked me through test process which it failed, a defective device. They told me no problem we are escalating this issue. we have started the return process, you'll have your expedited device in 2 days. That was the night of 12/26, when I didn't receive a tracking number, I spoke with customer service on the 12/27 who confirmed that I had a 2 day expedited unit in process. I received emails and even phone calls from Amazon wanting to know how satisfied I was with their response did I have any further needs etc. It was quite impressive to be honest except for one tiny problem. The replacement unit was still not delivered nor had I received a tracking number. So again I inquire and this time probably my 6th or 7th customer service rep, says " it appeared it could possibly be stuck in processing so we've cancelled the original replacement and processed another order. As the Echo Show 15 is currently out of stock, we were able to get an estimated delivery date for the device. Estimated Delivery Date: Monday, February 7, 2022 - Thursday, February 10, 2022" I had it verified multiple times by multiple people only to be told "it appeared it could possible be stuck in processing". What does that even mean? Is it stuck between the elves and unicorns? Anyone else's order possibly, might have been stuck into this digital fantasy land called "processing"? So I buy a product before Xmas, it's defective, I specifically ask how long for a replacement because if it's going to be months and months just give me back my money, and I'm promised a 2-day replacement which has been going on for 7 days only to be told my 2 day replacement has been STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN and I'm now at the back of the line and get expect my replacement in and around another 6-7 weeks. 2 and a half months after my original purchase. What went from a bad experience and a great customer service turns out to receiving a defective product and then being lied to by multiple service reps repeatedly which honestly is worse that getting the defective product. Amazon has always been great about anything purchased through them so this whole experience has been incredibly shocking to say the least. This was supposed to be a fun family Christmas present and it's turned into a total nightmare.
