Drone = AWESOME; DJI support = ABYSMAL
Let me get straight to the point of this email in case you are speed-reading: DJI is the worst company I’ve ever been forced to deal with. That statement doesn’t even begin to be strong enough though. Let me make a very brief list of the facts so that you can judge for yourself and insert your own superlatives.
The simple facts:
· We sent our Phantom 3 Advanced in for repairs on July 8 2015 (I added in the year because… well, you never know).
· It is now October 26 2015.
· I have received an overwhelming total of: 1 communication from DJI.
· Per their web site, they estimate 3 weeks in the queue for repairs once received; then 6 weeks to repair (this was later changed by word of mouth to 8 weeks).
· This is the first time in my 32 years I’ve been treated so badly by a company that I felt the need to share this treatment with the world.
DJI has not called, emailed:
· To inform me my unit had been received
· To update me about… anything
· To tell me when they started looking at my unit
· To tell me they had looked at my unit
· To tell me they had finished the repairs on my unit
· To … I don’t know… tell me what was wrong with my unit and quote me the repairs???
· To tell me they had shipped my unit
· To provide a tracking number in reference to my shipped unit
· Any time they assured me they would
I have called DJI:
· At LEAST 20 times over the last 3 months (going on 4).
· If you want exact numbers - and why the hell not it's fun - it's been 14 weeks 5 days; OR 28.22% OF 2015.
· I’ve been told I’d be hearing back from a representative at least 10 times. I heard back ONCE. By the way that's ONCE TOTAL. Phone, email, pingeons, smoke signals, or telepathy all included.
I have escalated to managers. And manager’s managers. I have been put on endless hold spirals and had my call dropped. I’ve been told people simply weren’t available (but they will be getting in touch with me!). And then when it seemed like things were FINALLY almost over, I was told my unit had shipped and would arrive by Friday (last week). Naturally, I asked for the tracking number. It’s been FOUR phone calls and several days and… they cannot produce a tracking number. Now when I get the automated response of “we’ll be getting in touch with you shortly” I produce my automated response of “right, and when you don’t do that, I’ll be calling again in 2 hours.”
Listen folks – I love my drone. Love it love it love it. But I don’t give a rat’s rear end about that fact anymore. I will never, ever deal with this wretched company again. I don’t care if the thing is made of gold when it’s support is covered in well… you know what.
