Waste of Money for LOW QUALITY
As a lifelong coffee drinker going on 70 years of enjoying good coffee, I found this selection to be close to worthless. I thought I would try this brand as a lower-cost alternative from my usual locally-purchased and excellent coffee for day-to-day use. I didn't expect it to beat out my usual coffee, but based on different reviews placing it in "top 10" choices, I certainly expected better than trivial. First off, the whole beans in the 2# bag were anything but "whole" - more like 60% crushed into pieces and basically dust. So the chance of any flavor being held within the beans was gone from the start. I actually considered just returning it, but gave it a chance...with little hope. There is simply no excuse for the condition these beans were in, an absolute lack of quality control or professional processing, packaging and handling. The resulting coffee was doomed from the start. That little hope was too much. I use a high-quality grinder, so it did its usual good job of grinding through the mess; but just from the sound of the grinder, I knew it was forced to push through the dust and pieces, which does nothing for creating quality coffee grounds. There was almost zero aroma from the grounds, so strike two; no aroma is just an indicator of no flavor following. As with my grinder, I use a high-quality coffee maker; but the tools have to have something to work with, in this case at least acceptable beans. Since that quality was already noticeably missing, the final "product" - the cup of coffee - amounted to little more than colored water, a complete waste. At least truckstop coffee offers flavor, although much like melted tar. I will just use this up, perhaps by doubling the amount of beans per cycle to try and squeeze something out of this. This product is absolutely not worth purchasing. I do not recommend it at all.
