I've been an Automotive Tech for 32 years now. I always disassemble failed unit to see the root cause of failure. It seems that they use small rubber gaskets to keep the water away from the Motor (Electricity and water, not a good combination), the best I can tell the gaskets were not aligned properly and water entered the electric motor. So, when the unit was used and put away wet rust formed and next time the motor was started it popped the 12 amp fuse. So, even if I was wrong about the gaskets, (there is a possibility they fell out of position while dismantling unit) An electric motor that doesn't last 12 hours (average of 2 hours a month) is just poor quality.
