My Original Review was a 4 and not it is a 1.
I was going back and forth between this and an inflatable bouncer. I did lots of research and decided against the inflatable bouncer BUT I need to get something fun and safer than a bed or couch for my kid to jump on. Samsclub.com has this same bouncer for 139 + tax and if you need it shipped it will cost ya over a 100 bucks, so store pick up is best. This trampoline is so springy unlike a lot of the residential inflatables. Some of the residential inflatables have just enough bounce to absorb the shock but not let your kids be kangaroos. One big thing I saw with the inflatables that made me go towards the trampoline was that the manufactures suggest you not use an extenstion cord. Well, that cuts out the outdoor use for me becuase our outdoor outlet is not in the right spot for the 3 to 5 foot cord. Also, if it says outdoor and you use it indoor and something goes wrong, like your blower going out then you have voided your warranty. I also read that sometimes there is a fume that is noticble with indoor use that you don't get if it is outside. I thought the trampoline was going to be close to the size of the ones you get for personal exercise. Well, it isn't. It is suprisingly BIG which is wonderful. When I went to Sams Club I had to come back with someone who had a truck because the box was bigger than I expected and it is really heavy. If you have a Smart Car, Tercell, Civic, Sentra, or any smaller car it isn't going to fit. The reason I gave the product a 4 and not a 5 is because I found it difficult to put together. I have read many reviews of people saying it took them 2 hours. My 2 hours was more like 4 hours. It was easy through step 4. Step 5 is where I ran into trouble. Have some WD-40 on hand. YOu may need it. The springs aren't too bad to put on because they put a special tool in the box. If it weren't for dad fixing a piece that was a manufature flaw I would have been on the phone with them trying to get them to send a piece. One of the frames didn't fit into the other like it was suppose to. The instructions has a big warning on it that you are not to take it back to the retailer and that you have to deal directly with them. You can use it indoors or outdoors but not both unless you have the equivalent of 5 doors. Pretty much where ever you put it together (in or out) that is where it is going to stay. The quality is great. You know how we joke around and say "it was made in China" to indicate it was poorly put together and poor quality. Well it was made in China and it is a great product that will last you for a a long time. I would recogmend it to parents of small children. Again, the only reason I am giving it a 4 instead of a 5 is that it was really difficult to put together at step 5. The rest wasn't so bad. UPDATE: The foam noodles that they use on it are the same that you use in the swimming pool. If you put the trampoline up outside the noodles WILL deterioate, but it is an easy fix. If you have a garage or good storage space stock up on those noodles when they go on sale at the end of the summer. Make sure you get the ones with the big holes. If you have your trampoline indoors you probably will not have this problem for years if at all. You must change the noodles unless you want your children to inhale the particles from the foam after it starts to deterioate. This doesn't take away from my rating because I still feel like this is a fantastic trampoline. This actually gives you a chance to personalize it. LOL! You now can choose the color your want for your trampoline poles. Ours is now Punky Brewster style ( bright and multicolor). Update: Summer 2012 I still think this is a great trampoline, but it was not made for being outdoors in the sun. I live in Southern Cal so we get sunny pretty much all year round even when it is cold outside. I stated before that the foam pole covers ( pool noodles) deterioate, but that is an easy fix. The cover that is on top of the springs which has a foam layer deterioates pretty bad too. The material on ours ripped from being weakend by the sun, but the other day my child's foot went right through because it was weak. My child was not expecting that and neither was I. Most of us don't have these, but if you have a playroom or basement it the entire trampoline would last much longer. Just remember, assemble where you are going to put it. We are definitely getting our money's worth...it has served its purpose. Still totally usable. I am using it a lot more myself and I weigh more than 100 lbs.
