More flaws than we thought
My husband and I were actually fairly excited to upgrade our espresso machine. We were doing price comparisons and how we currently make our coffees in the morning. We came across this one and for the price and specs we loved what we saw cal we purchased it. Honestly, we wish we were able to return it. The idea of the machine is great, but it has some fairly big flaws. There’s not much room underneath where the coffee dispenses from. Where as before with our older machine, we used shot glasses. This one is for a cup, in which you only have so much room to pick what your using. The coffee isn’t as strong as our old machine. This one has the option for Single and double shot Espresso, Cappucino, and laté. The first time using it, I thought it could just be that it’s new. But, it is very hard to put the tamper on, without pressing any of the touchscreen buttons. There have been quite a few times that I’ve set the buttons off, since there’s little room to hold onto anything when putting it on. Another flaw, is the milk frother. It’s either too much foam, or not enough milk. We drink 6 shot latés and with our previous machine, we did 1 cup of milk with 6 shots in our mugs. This one fills about halfway with the double shots and milk. We’ve tried many different ways of making our coffees, but it’s honestly not much better than our old machine, but our old machine made stronger coffee. I don’t like being negative and complaining. But for people who did a lot of research and had owned one previously, we are fairly dissatisfied with the purchase and are now out $160 or so. We bought it because with seemed to have great reviews and we were excited.
I do like the reservoir capacity and the self clean option. It is quiet, as far as an espresso machine goes. And it’s fairly medium sized so it doesn’t take up much room.
