★★☆☆☆
I don’t like writing poor reviews
This book was not gripping, it wasn’t anything promised. It mostly went on and on and on detailing a mother’s grief over losing her child. This was quite boring after the first few repetitive chapters of it. The twists were predictable (to me at least) I had thought the ending might redeem the dragging on of the story but ultimately, it did not. I stuck with it because I have a broken foot and am reading every thriller I can while I recover. This was not a fun read. I gave two stars instead of just one because she did a good job at describing the oft times subtlety of domestic abuse and I do applaud her for that. Having been in a variety of abusive relationships, this description rang true.
