Shame on Amazon!
Amazon should be embarrassed to be doing business with Chase. I have an outsatanding credit record but was turned down by Chase. Why? Because I hadn’t “recently” applied for credit. The last credit account I opened was in 2007...11 years ago. Who would have guessed a person could be rated a high credit risk because he doesn’t apply for credit often enough?!
I believe that’s a bogus excuse. The truth is that I pay the balance every month, faithfully. I’ve never once missed a payment. My credit score, according to Chase, is north of 810. “A score of 810 on the FICO scale of 300 to 850 would be outstanding and generally would insure you get the best interest rates.” (consumer-action dot org)
I think Chase simply doesn’t want to carry a bunch of “deadbeat” accounts that don’t generate 27 percent APR for them. “A ‘deadbeat’ is the unflattering term sometimes used in the credit card industry to describe consumers who pay off their balances every month, using the lenders' money but paying no interest on it.” (creditcards dot com)
Shame on Chase! And shame on Amazon for doing business with Chase!
