Because the Small Pet Select (SPS) hay I bought in summer 2017 was fragrant, supple and soft, I subsequently made several orders totaling 50 pounds of 2nd cut SPS hay. Much to my dismay, the hay delivered since summer was repeatedly poor. Seen from the photos below, the hay smelled stale, it was coarse and sharp like straw, and dry like it had zero moisture content. How SPS claims that it actually handpicks its hay for sale I will never know. My rabbit won’t eat it. I had to return most of the hay ordered recently. If it wasn’t for the good hay SPS once delivered, I would have given this product 1-star. SPS must realize that its ‘money-back guarantee’ is meaningless if it can’t assure quality consistency of its own hay products. No pet owner wants to deal with the hassle of refund/replacement when their pets starve. What customers want is 100% consistency in hay quality (as advertised), so pets enjoy eating it and pet owners are happy. If SPS hay continues to disappoint, I must look elsewhere.
