first off printer is great in size
Hey everyone, first off printer is great in size.. That being said, if you are an IT pro, stay far away as you can from this demon box. First off, if you want to use the wireless function you have to go through HP Windows 10 app to set it up using the ews. This is fine except the product seemed to be rushed and you cannot go to the ews directly through the Windows 10 app. Not sure if this was an issue with my unit but every time I tried to save the wireless configuration the app froze and crashed. Eventually getting creative I took out my Android smartphone and connected to the wireless function directly using Wi-Fi Direct. From there I was able to assign it an IP address, then threw my phone, was able to access the web configuration menu. From there I was able to self assign an IP address. Printer works fine for normal office use, after I had to jump through several hoops to get there. Here is the problem I have. Being an IT Pro there are times where you can tell HP did not build this printer. The drivers are absolutely garbage and x86 support is horrible. This printer will not work over Microsoft Remote Desktop, despite the fact that I went out of my way to rename driver packages to get it configured correctly. The printer will attempt to print, but sit there and click making a noise like printing has started or spooled, yet do nothing. Printer says printing has completed yet nothing happens. Print jobs are not stuck they just do nothing. Generally this is not the case with HP as their drivers are awesome, but you can tell if this printer was made for somebody who has no idea what networking is and it's built for smartphones.
