Pros: • heavy duty handle • heavy/solid base • easy to install Cons: • shoddy/flimsy metal piece the potato sits on • the “metal” plates feel more like super hard plastic to me • SUPER HARD to cut a potato vertically & horizontally • the blades suck so much that I literally used this for 15 minutes and one of the blades had already bent • when I did finally get a potato to go thru, the potato doesn’t even cut all the way thru • the screws that’s you do screw in doesn’t properly hold everything in place Basically just don’t buy this. It looks nice, you see all the nice reviews but this isn’t worth your money. I cook professionally and I got GOT w/ this thing. The worst part was when the potatoes finally went past the blade, I couldn’t even get the whole potato to go thru and got stuck at the very end. I had to use my chef knife to cut the potatoes from the end of the blades. Horrible product in my opinion. New Star Foodservice, take this product off your shelves and work on it some more. Don’t just push products out that are semi-ok and then sell it for a “good” price. I would rather pay extra for something that actually works efficiently.
